your burden, my labor

your burden, my labor is a project focused in abstracting traumatic experiences into cloth. In your burden, I sit down with individuals who have experienced loss or trauma and listen to their stories. I then deconstruct their stories, letter by letter, and translate them into weaving. Each cloth made from this project exists as a testament to their lived experience, where every thread is a piece of them and their story. In the end, each cloth is gifted back to the participant.
